Wetting Agents

Wetting agents accelerate the dispersion of pigments and fillers in construction chemicals (e.g., architectural paints, waterproofing coatings). They work with defoamers to achieve rapid wetting without generating persistent foam.

    FEATURES

     General Properties: Low molecular weight surfactants (anionic or nonionic); typically clear, low-viscosity liquids.
     Synergistic Role: Wetting agents lower surface tension to penetrate dry powders but simultaneously stabilize the resulting foam. The defoamer must quickly knock down this foam without causing the wetted particles to re-agglomerate or float.
     Performance Benefits:
    Rapid Deaeration: Quickly releases air displaced from powder pores during the wetting and grinding process.
    Prevents Flocculation: Maintains particle dispersion while eliminating foam, ensuring color strength and coating stability.
    Defect-Free Coatings: Prevents craters and foam-induced pinholes in applied architectural paints and liquid membranes.
