Thickeners

Thickeners increase the viscosity of food sauces, syrups, and pharmaceutical gels or oral liquids. Their high viscosity physically traps micro-bubbles, making them extremely difficult to remove without specialized, high-spreading defoamers.

    FEATURES

General Properties: Hydrocolloids and cellulose derivatives (e.g., CMC, HPMC, pectin, carrageenan); typically white, free-flowing powders that form highly viscous, clear solutions.
Synergistic Role: The thick, viscous network prevents trapped air from rising to the surface. The defoamer must possess exceptional spreading and penetrating power to navigate the high-viscosity matrix, rupture the bubble walls, and release the entrapped air.
     Performance Benefits:
Overcomes High Viscosity: Effectively breaks micro-foam even in highly thickened, gel-like food and pharma systems.
Ensures Visual Clarity: Removes tiny suspended air bubbles that cause cloudiness or opacity in clear syrups, gels, and beverages.
Improves Processability: Deaerates the thick liquid, preventing pump cavitation and ensuring smooth, continuous, and drip-free flow through filling nozzles.
