Softeners

 General Properties: Cationic, nonionic, or silicone emulsions; typically milky white to translucent liquids.

 Synergistic Role: The high-pressure nip of the padding mangle whips the softener emulsion into a stable foam. The defoamer must rapidly collapse this foam without breaking the softener emulsion or causing the silicone to separate and form oily spots.
