PCE

PCE is a high-performance water reducer used in concrete and mortars to improve workability and strength. However, its unique molecular structure inherently traps air during mixing. Defoamers are essential to eliminate these harmful macro-bubbles without compromising PCE’s dispersing power.

    FEATURES

General Properties: High-performance anionic polymers with long side chains; typically clear to slightly hazy yellowish liquids.
Synergistic Role: PCEs stabilize air bubbles due to their surfactant-like structure. The defoamer must rapidly collapse these large bubbles while preserving the workability, flow, and slump retention provided by the PCE.
     Performance Benefits:
Eliminates Harmful Voids: Removes large entrained air, increasing concrete density and compressive strength.
Maintains Workability: Does not interfere with the PCE's water-reducing and dispersing efficiency.
Improves Surface Finish: Prevents surface bug holes and honeycombing in architectural and precast concrete.
