Leveling Agents

 General Properties: Nonionic or anionic polymeric surfactants; typically clear, water-soluble liquids.

 Synergistic Role: High-liquor-ratio machines and rapid fabric transport generate foam that blocks the dye from reaching the fiber. The defoamer must eliminate the foam without altering the dye affinity or stripping the leveling agent's retarding effect.

Prevents Dye Spots and Shading: Eliminates foam barriers that cause unlevel dyeing, streaks, or pale spots.

Maximizes Dye Utilization: Ensures the dye bath remains in full contact with the fabric, improving color yield.
