Emulsifiers

 General Properties: Cetearyl alcohol, polysorbates, PEG derivatives, or glyceryl stearate; white solids, waxes, or clear viscous liquids.

 Synergistic Role: High-shear homogenization and mixing trap micro-bubbles within the viscous emulsion. The defoamer must eliminate these bubbles to ensure a smooth texture, without disrupting the delicate hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) or causing the oil and water phases to separate.

 Performance Benefits:

Prevents "Air-Whipping": Removes entrained air during the manufacturing of creams and lotions, ensuring accurate filling weights.

Ensures Smooth Texture: Eliminates micro-bubbles that would otherwise create a spongy, uneven, or aerated feel in personal care products.

Maintains Emulsion Stability: Defoams effectively without destabilizing the emulsifier network or causing oil separation (creaming).
