FEATURES
General Properties: Broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents (e.g., isothiazolinones, chlorine dioxide, DBNPA); typically clear liquids or soluble powders.
Synergistic Role: In biological systems, specific bacteria cause stubborn "biological foam." Defoamers provide immediate physical knock-down, while biocides kill the foam-producing microbes. Crucially, the defoamer must be chemically stable and not consume the biocide's active ingredients.
Performance Benefits:
Source Control: Prevents biological foam generation by inhibiting foam-causing organisms (e.g., Nocardia).
Prevents Biofouling: Stops slime buildup that clogs aeration diffusers, nozzles, and membranes.
Maintains Efficacy: Compatible defoamers ensure the biocide's active ingredients (like free chlorine) are not depleted, maximizing overall sterilization.
