Anionic Surfactants

Anionic surfactants are the primary cleaning agents in laundry detergents and dishwashing liquids, known for generating high, stable foam. In low-suds applications (like HE washing machines) or during high-speed manufacturing, defoamers are essential to control this aggressive foam without reducing cleaning power.

    FEATURES

General Properties: SLES, LABSA, SLS, or sulfonates; typically clear to pale yellow viscous liquids or pastes with high foaming capacity.
Synergistic Role: Anionic surfactants create tough, highly elastic foam lamellae. The defoamer must possess strong spreading power to penetrate and rupture these resilient films without neutralizing the surfactant's cleaning ability or causing precipitation in the formulation.
     Performance Benefits:
Enables Low-Suds Formulations: Provides effective foam control for High-Efficiency (HE) laundry detergents and automatic dishwashing liquids.
Prevents Manufacturing Overflow: Eliminates massive foam generation during high-speed mixing and bottling on filling lines.
Maintains Cleaning Efficacy: Collapses foam without deactivating the primary soil-removal and grease-cutting properties of the surfactant.
